Vintage 1980s Spaghetti of London Green Silk Beaded Jacket by Nadia La Valle
Incredibly rare and exceptional vintage 1980s evening jacket by Spaghetti of London, the label established by Italian designer Nadia La Valle, the designer of Isabella Blow's 1989 purple velvet wedding dress.
Cut from luminous jade green silk with blue undertones and a richly textured, slubbed surface, the jacket changes beautifully as it catches the light. Its fitted silhouette is shaped through the bodice before flaring gently over the hips, creating an elegant slightly peplum-like profile.
The pointed statement collar and deep cuffs are embellished with an intricate overlapping scallop motif. Metallic gold braid and fine red threading define each scalloped edge, while emerald green bugle beads create radiating fan-like details. Matching silk-covered buttons complete the front.
Nadia La Valle established Spaghetti in 1976, as an an independent couture label and boutique. Rich textiles and exotic embroideries inspired by Tangiers and Bombay were hallmarks of La Valle’s work. Her richly embroidered and intricate couture designs attracted an international clientele and one of La Valle’s most famous clients was the late, great stylist, creative and tastemaker Isabella Blow. Spaghetti was located at 32 Beauchamp Place, London and was in business from 1976 to the mid-2000s.

Excellent. There are two minor stains that dry cleaning hasn't removed, one is on the front right of the garment near the buttons, the other is on the rear right near the shoulder (see photos). Not noticeable.
